Forget what you know about how you performed in education or in your current/last organization. Make a plan to learn and market relevant skills, do some home project, show case your skills and code on some online platform and become an active participant in some code sharing community. This transition might take some time ( a few months ), but will be worth it and you will rise up better than who just have some experience in a specific technology. Its not your work experience but the work you can do. Stop counting years of experience, no more relevant. If you need to change learn emerging technologies.
