You can't prepare too much. Get the concept. Have lots of ideas. Do a few DIY projects. Get ambitious. Become a part of some active IoT community. If you have day job; network internally and socialize your IoT knowledge and ideas. Reach out to though leaders in your corporate. Use LinkedIn to follow what others are doing with their career.
