What is the difference between thinking and meditating?


You don't think, thinking happens. Does meditation take efforts? Yes.
Goal of meditation is to drop away thinking and finally to become free of it.
However unlike western meditation, Chinese and Japanese meditation talks about "effortless efforts"  and " doing without action".
